Evergreen Landscaping and Irrigation Co, the trusted business we know today, started in 1979.
The original owner, Charles "Bing" Cherry, worked at the local country club and while there helped install an automated sprinkler system. From that moment on he knew he found something he enjoyed doing and could happily make a successful business. Evergreen Landscaping and Irrigation Company was born.
For the first 15 years he focused solely on automated sprinkler systems, building a trustworthy local business in Miles City, and eventually all over southeastern Montana. As Bing spent more time in this industry, he decided in order for his company to grow, he needed more to offer. He started working with other landscapers and gained the experience needed to start providing this service on his own.
Evergreen Landscaping was truly built on community support, loyal customers and employees who made this company not only a business but a family in its own right. After 40 years of dedicated work, Bing sold Evergreen Landscaping and Irrigation Co. to Yellowstone Environmental Contracting and has been enjoying a well-earned retirement. It is the goal of YEC to continue the growth, community support and family-like atmosphere that is the foundation of this company.
Meet our Team Leaders
Curtis McWilliams is our Operations Manager and has been with YEC since 2012. In 2022 he took over as Landscape Manager for the Evergreen side of the company. With this role he also, along with Matt Cain, acts as Estimator.
A Miles City native, Curtis is an avid outdoorsman & enjoys spending time with family and friends.
Cody Fuhrman is our Landscape Crew leader.
Matt Cain is our Irrigation Estimating Manager with 20+ years of landscaping experience. When YEC acquired Evergreen in 2018, Matt stayed on as valuable asset & team member for our growing company.
Matt coaches youth hockey, is a huge sports fan & loves spending time with his family and his dogs.
Lavonne Gould is our Office and Human Resource Manager.
